The wells will be drilled and constructed in Oyugis, Kenya, where the A is point too. This is about 55 miles from Kisumu, in Nyanza Province in Western Kenya.
As you can see from the satellite image below, the area is pretty agricultural, although there is a town center where women can sell produce and crafts at the market.
Unfortunately, the women don't have much time for these activities because they have to spend hours each day collecting water. If we can help them construct wells located near their homes, it will free up their time and they can spend it tending to their gardens or making crafts which they can sell at the market. This income will help support their families and empower them to take more control over their lives.
